- 3. A member of the dais that moderates debate, keeps time, rules on points and motions, and enforces the rules of procedure. AKA the moderator.
- 6. The order and respect for others that all delegates at a MUN conference must exhibit.
- 8. The group of people in charge of a MUN committee. Usually consists of a Chair, Director, and a Rapporteur.
- 10. The orders in which issues will be discussed. Usually, this is the second thing that happens in committee.
- 12. A document that has been passed by an organ of the UN that aims to address a particular problem or issue.
- 13. During a vote on a substantive matter, delegates can choose not to vote 'yes' or 'no'.
- 14. A suspension of the meeting until next meeting. You must end every session this way.

- 1. A group of countries in a similar geographical region with a similar opinion on a particular topic.
- 2. A break in formal debate in which countries can more easily and informally discuss a topic.
- 4. A change to the draft resolution on the floor. Two types: 1) Friendly: supported by sponsors and passed automatically or 2) Unfriendly: Not supported by sponsors and must be voted on by the committee.
- 5. A student acting as a representative of a member state or observer of MUN.
- 7. Having legal force in UN member states. The ICJ and Security Council decisions are binding.
- 9. A piece of cardstock with a country's name on it that a delegate raises in the air to speak or vote.
- 11. A request made by a delegate that the committee, as a whole, will do something.
