Across
  1. 6. Each of the pairs of opposite angles made by two intersecting lines. Intersecting lines are when two or more lines cross each other in a plane.
  2. 8. A formula used to find the distance between two points. Uses two sets of coordinates to find the distance between them.
  3. 12. A formula to find the midpoint between two points. Uses two sets of coordinates to find the middle point of the line they make.
  4. 14. An algebraic equation in which each term has an exponent of 1. The graphing of the equation results in a straight line (ex. y=-x+2)
  5. 15. A sequence in which the difference between consecutive terms is always the same. It uses adding or subtraction to find the next term. (ex. 4, 7, 10, 13…)
  6. 18. A sequence of numbers where each term after the first is found by multiplying the previous term by a fixed number. A common ratio is multiplied to each term. (ex, 1, 2, 4, 8…)
  7. 19. An ordered list of numbers. This list can increase or decrease as long as it's being multiplied, added or subtracted by the same number each time. (ex. 3,5,7,9…)
Down
  1. 1. Any positive number that does not include a fraction or decimal. A number that can be written without a fractional component. (ex. 0, 1, 10)
  2. 2. A scalar value that is a function of the entries of a square matrix. A scalar value refers to a single value. (ex. 2x2, 4x4)
  3. 3. All positive integers that aren’t decimals or fractions. All whole numbers but 0. (ex. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5…)
  4. 4. A theorem that the square of the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the legs. The hypotenuse is the longest leg that's opposite of the right angle and the legs are the other two sides of the triangle. (ex. A squared+B squared=C squared)
  5. 5. numerical measure of a line's inclination relative to the horizontal. Can be shown using rise over run. (ex. y2-y1/x2-x1)
  6. 7. A symbol usually a letter, standing in for an unknown numerical value in an equation. A placeholder for a quantity that may change. (ex. x, y)
  7. 9. A specified amount in or for every hundred. A part of a whole expressed in hundredths. (ex. 95% 16%)
  8. 10. Any real number that cannot be expressed as the quotient of two integers. A quotient is the result of dividing two numbers. (ex. Pi, square root of 2)
  9. 11. The number or variable that is being multiplied by itself in relation to its exponent. The bigger number when there is an exponent next to it. (ex. 5 to the power of 2)
  10. 13. A numerical quantity that is not a whole number. A small or tiny part, amount or proportion of something. (ex. 1/2, 1/4)
  11. 16. The constant amount of change between numbers in an arithmetic sequence. The amount that is added or subtracted from the previous term to find the next. (ex. 2, 4, 6, 8…. 2+2=4 4+2=6 6+2=8)
  12. 17. A whole number, a number that is not a fraction. A whole value that is positive, negative or 0. (ex. 1, 10, 25)
