- 6. A number that does not change, it keeps it’s value.
- 8. Tells us that we can multiply each of the numbers/variables inside brackets by the number in front, to find the answer.
- 10. The little number up beside a number or variable, that tells you how many times to multiply it by ITSELF.
- 12. A symbol or letter that represents an UNKNOWN value.

- 1. This ALWAYS has an ‘equals’ sign, and both sides of the ‘=’ have the same value.
- 2. Where the GROUPINGS of numbers being multiplied or added can change without affecting the result.
- 3. Where the order of numbers being multiplied or added can change without affecting the result.
- 4. This is the number right in front of a variable.
- 5. This is the OPPOSITE pf the operation being used, which can help us solve an equation.
- 7. This is a number, a variable, or a combo of both, and is separated from others by an Operator. The name for the symbol of the maths ‘action’ that is being done; adding, subtractings, multiplying or dividing.
- 9. This stays the same when being added to ZERO or multiplied by ONE.
- 11. This is 1 or more TERMS. It does NOT have an ‘equals’ sign or 2 sides & does NOT need solving.
