He did not even campaign when he was nominated for the House of Representatives because he believed that, “An officer fit for duty who at this crisis would abandon his post to electioneer… ought to be scalped.” He won his seat by a landslide.

- 5. A 2-term president. He was VP before ascending to president. He came into office after his predecessor was assissinated. He was one of the first presidents to really work in foriegn affairs, and was the first president to win a nobel peach prize.

- 8. A 2-term president. Was president of Princeton University before entering into politics. Was president when the US declared war against Germany. Therefore, formally entering the US into WWI
- 11. A 1.5-term president. He was the THIRD president to be assissinated. He was killed very shortly into his second term. So many assinations!!!
- 14. A 2-term president, but his terms were not consecutive. The only president two serve two non-consecutive terms.
- 17. A 1-term president. The only president to also serve as Chief Justice. Serving as Chief Justice was this former president's greatest honor; he wrote: “I don’t remember that I ever was President.”
- 18. A 2-term president. Wrote a memoir in order to pay off debts so that his family wouldn't be desititue when he died. He completed his memoir shortly before his death.

- 25. A 2-term president. Legitimate murderer. He killed in a man in a duel. The duel ensued because of a slur bestowed upon this man's wife. He wasn't even a politician. Just a regular guy murdering someone, and no one even flinched!!! Under his presidency evolved our more current political parties: Democratic Republicans and the National Republicans
- 26. A 2-term president. The British set fire to the White House and the Capitol during the war of 1812 - a war declared by this sitting president.

- 1. A 1-term president. Second to die in office. Based on biographic overviews, he sounds like he would have been a total hippie (aside from the fact that he was a military general through-and-through). Ironically, his only son fought in the civil war, but fought for the confederates, not the union (good thing he didn't live to see that day).
- 3. A 2-term president. Three presidents died on the 4th of July (two of them on the exact same day/year, only a couple of hours apart!), he was the 3rd pres to die on July 4th. Also, this president has the exact same first and last initials as his presidential predecesor.
