7. The Philippines declared War after the signing of the Treaty of Paris to gain their independence. They were not happy about being denied their independence. Led band of guerillas against the US. After 3 years thousands died and American were very cruel.

14. It began with the Spanish imperializing Cuba and the US wanting Cuba. There are two causes of the war, 1# America wanted more influence and cheaper trade with Cuba and 2# the USS sinking of maine.

17. Taft extended the Roosevelt corally by guaranteeing loans to all Latin American countries. Dollar Diplomacy is helping Central American countries and helping them financially.

13. Feb. 1898 U.S ship thought to have sunk because of Spain by Americans because it was on its way to give supplies to Cuba. Newspapers exaggerated this story.
16. Canal: U.S wanted a canal to connect the Atlantic to the Pacific ocean. This helped cut military and trading time and give America access to South America influence.
