- 2. A number that consists of an integer (whole number) and a fraction.
- 4. Represents numerical information in a visual form. The numbers may come from a table, situation or rule.
- 5. The set of positive and negative whole numbers, including zero.
- 6. The point on a graph where the x-axis and y-axis intersect. This point is at the ordered pair or coordinate (0,0).
- 8. The horizontal number line on a graph. This goes from left to right.
- 9. A mathematical sentence that has an equal sign between two expressions that tells us both sides are equal.
- 11. Two numbers written in order as follows: (x,y). These can help us locate or plot points on a graph.
- 12. Numbers that can be expressed as a fraction. Rational numbers include positive and negative whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

- 1. A fraction in which the numerator is greater than the denominator. This gives us a value greater than 1 whole.
- 3. A combination of individual terms separated by plus or minus signs.
- 7. The vertical number line on a graph. This goes up and down.
- 10. The distance a number is from zero. 5 and -5 have the same absolute value which is 5 units from zero. Absolute value is indicated by two vertical lines around a number.
