3. mass/ The mass in grams of one mole (or 6.02 x 1023 molecules) of any chemical compound.
4. mass/ the sum of atomic weights of the atoms in a molecule
5. length/ the average distance between nuclei of two bonded atoms in a molecule
7. composition/ Usually means percent composition by mass. Could also be percent composition by mole, or by weight.
9. formula/ a chemical formula based on analysis and molecular weight.
10. bond/ a chemical bond in which one atom loses an electron to form a positive ion and the other atom gains an electron to form a negative ion.
12. a method of describing the delocalized electrons in some molecules where the bonding cannot be explicitly expressed by a single Lewis structure
15. bond/ A chemical bond in which three pairs of electrons are shared between two atoms.
17. covalent bond/ a bond in which one nucleus of an atom donates both electrons to form a bond with another atom
18. hybridization/ mixing atomic orbitals to form new hybrid orbitals suitable for the qualitative description of atomic bonding properties.
19. rule/ atoms that tend to combine in such a way that they each have eight electrons in their valence shells

16. covalent bonds/ A covalent bond in which the electrons are not shared equally, giving the bond some ionic character
