- 4. size and direction produce linear perspective. produce aerial perspective of color from warm to cool and tone from dark to light. Can add interest and movement to a shape.
- 6. All lines have this - Horizontal, Vertical or Oblique. Horizontal suggests calmness, stability and tranquility. Vertical gives a feeling of balance, formality and alertness. Oblique suggests movement and action

- 1. the surface quality of a shape - rough, smooth, soft hard glossy etc. Texture can be physical (tactile) or visual
- 2. the visually satisfying effect of combining similar, related elements. eg. adjacent colors on the color wheel, similar shapes etc.
- 3. can be considered in two ways. The linear marks made with a pen or brush or the edge created when two shapes meet.
- 5. reusing of the same or similar elements throughout your design. Can also bring a clear sense of unity to your design.
- 7. the relationship of the area occupied by one shape to that of another.
- 8. the juxtaposition of opposing elements eg. opposite colors on the color wheel - red / green, blue / orange
