Direction Term

1. When something is on the other side of something else, it is across.
3. The side that is not your right. Your left hand makes an "L" if you extend your thumb and index finger.
5. The direction behind you. When you walk but look behind you, you're moving backward.
7. The direction in front of you. When you walk without turning, you're moving forward.
9. The direction towards the ground. When you sit, you go down.
11. The direction to the right when you look at a map. The sun rises from this side.
12. When something is close to you, it is near.
13. The direction to the bottom when you look at a map. The South Pole is this way.

2. The side that is not your left. If you write with your right hand, you're right-handed.
4. When something is a long way away, it is far.
5. When something is lower than something else, it is below.
6. When something is higher than something else, it is above.
8. The direction to the left when you look at a map. The sun sets on this side.
10. The direction to the top when you look at a map. The North Pole is this way.
14. The direction towards the sky. When you jump, you go up.
