2. The color of wood, of the earth. The color of those big, sweet eyes as she gazed up at me. Young, scared, but so, so gentle.
6. The structure of most animals. Hers are slowly becoming less visible as she gains weight.

11. An expression of joy. The face I swear she looks at me with every day when I call her a good girl and give her hugs.

1. To develop or become larger. Something she wasn't able to do in an environment with so little warmth and care.
3. Bones in the upper chest. The bones I could see showing through her skin. How little had they been feeding her?
4. The body part that balances most quadrupedal animals. It wagged so hard when I gave her a name and found her favorite scratching spot.
5. The place where one resides. She'd gone so long without one. I hope she knows that's where she is now.
7. Responsible for sight, for the ability to look. She looked at me with so much innocence and love.
8. As in stereo-. One of my worries with her. A black pit bull attracts many negative associations.
9. All colors. The colors of the sweater I spent too much money on for her.
