Across
  1. 2. reference - A way of locating something on a map by where it sits in relation to vertical and horizontal grid lines, named with numbers and/or letters.
  2. 3. (supplementary) angle - Either of two angles which add up to 90°.
  3. 5. - A straight, sloping line that could join two opposite corners of a square or other straight-sided shape.
  4. 8. polygon - straight-sided shape whose sides and angles are not equal
  5. 12. - Is a 3D shape that has two identical ends and flat sides. Imagine taking a shape like a triangle, square or even more complicated polygon, and then stretching it out in a straight line. That stretched out shape becomes a prism!
  6. 13. - Rotating in the opposite direction to which a clock’s hands move.
  7. 14. - Lines that meet at right angles to each other.
  8. 15. - The view you have of something, e.g. an object.
  9. 19. angle - angles inside shapes.
  10. 23. scale - The relationship or ratio between distance on a map and in real life.
  11. 25. triangle - A triangle with any two sides equal in length, and whose interior angles opposite to the equal sides are also equal in size
  12. 26. factor - The ratio of the lengths of two sides on similar shapes of different sizes. It can be used to find out how many times larger or smaller one of the shapes is than the other.
  13. 27. polygon - straight-sided shape whose sides and angles are all equal
Down
  1. 1. triangle - A triangle which has one of its interior angles equalling 90°
  2. 3. section - The shape you get if you cut straight through an object.
  3. 4. triangle - A triangle whose three sides are all the same length.
  4. 6. - Make an object or amount larger.
  5. 7. - An image having been moved up, down, left, right or a combination of those.
  6. 9. - Change the size of an object or amount
  7. 10. angle - An angle that is parallel to the inner angle of a polygon, but sits outside it (i.e. imagine the side of a triangle carrying on beyond the corner of it - the angle between the triangle and the continued line is an exterior angle).
  8. 11. - Clockwise describes a circular movement or direction that goes in the same way the hands of a traditional analog clock move. Imagine looking at a clock face: the hour, minute, and second hands all move in a specific direction around the center. That direction – moving from the top towards the right, then down, then towards the left, and back up to the top – is clockwise.
  9. 16. triangle - A triangle whose three sides are all of different lengths, and whose interior angles are all different sizes.
  10. 17. points - compass points are the main directions we use to find our way around! Think of them like a most important stops on a direction map. (North, East, West, South)
  11. 18. property - is a characteristic or feature of something (like an object, a system, or a mathematical entity) that remains the same even when certain transformations or changes are applied to it. It's something that doesn't vary or change despite these modifications.
  12. 20. - Make an object or amount smaller.
  13. 21. of rotation - the point around which an object turns.
  14. 22. - Lines that are always the same distance apart and never meet.
  15. 24. - A flat shape that can be folder to make a model of a 3D shape.
