HWC 2025
Across
- 2. Roadkill is a major issue in NTU. Therefore, we should always be careful and stay aware of our surroundings when driving, cycling or even walking!
- 5. If you encounter a wild animal in obvious distress or severely injured, you should contact the animal rescue organisation known as ACRES. (operating daily from 7am to 1am)
- 6. If a bee, wasp or spider lands on you, you should refrain from smacking the creature because it can still hurt you anyway if it makes contact with your skin. Calmly move your body part and wait for it to leave.
- 8. If you encounter grounded bats at NTU, you should not handle them yourself. Instead, take a picture and send it to the NTU Bat Response Hotline along with the location.
- 10. You should not use flash when taking photos of wildlife as it may temporarily blind their eyes.
Down
- 1. Snakes are generally timid and will not react to people unless provoked. Hence, avoid sudden movement or call pest control if you see snake around the campus!
- 3. Keep your pets on a tight leash as they might chase and frighten wildlife.
- 4. You should not feed wildlife as it may lead to their rapid population growth, causing them to explore urban areas or harass people for food.
- 7. Avoid showing your teeth to macaques as it is a sign of aggression to them.
- 9. If you encounter wildlife, even if they look cool or cute, you should not approach them.
