Across
  1. 1. This means to make something easier or shorter. In math, it usually means making an expression or fraction as simple as possible.
  2. 4. This is a number that divides evenly into another number. For example, the factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 because all of these numbers divide into 12 without leaving a remainder.
Down
  1. 1. This tells you if a number is positive or negative. A positive number has a "+" sign (though we usually don’t write it), and a negative number has a "−" sign in front of it. For example, +5 is positive and -5 is negative.
  2. 2. This is the result you get when you multiply two or more numbers. For example, the product of 3 and 4 is 12 (because 3 × 4 = 12).
  3. 3. This is a whole number. It can be positive, like 1, 2, 3, or negative, like -1, -2, -3. Zero is also an integer. These numbers do not have fractions or decimals.
