- 10. Was the first patent for a disposable syringe.A syringe is a simple pump consisting of a plunger that fits tightly in a tube. The plunger can be pulled and pushed along inside a cylindrical tube (called a barrel), allowing the syringe to take in and expel a liquid or gas through an orifice at the open end of the tube. The open end of the syringe may be fitted with a hypodermic needle, a nozzle, or tubing to help direct the flow into and out of the barrel. Syringes are often used to administer injections, insert intravenous drugs into the bloodstream, apply compounds such as glue or lubricant, and measure liquids.

- 2. On April 26, 1892, obtained United States patent rights for the improvements to the ironing board. The ironing board was designed to improve the quality of ironing sleeves and the bodies of women's garments. The board was very narrow, curved, and made of wood.
- 3. In 1966, designed a closed-circuit security system that monitored visitors via camera and projected their images onto a television monitor.
- 6. Designed a device that helped with the task of preserving perishable foods by way of refrigeration. The inventor patented this refrigerated apparatus on November 4, 1879. and had previously patented a chamber commode in 1872 and a dining, ironing table and quilting frame combined in 1870.
- 7. Invented the adjustable length skateboard (#4,458,907–1984).
- 9. Patent the apparatus (#2,096,375—1937) for making dentures faster and more accurately.
