Oxygen Safety

1. Oxygen will NOT do this, but it will cause fires to burn hotter and faster
3. The first time the pt is ordered to get O2 via one of these, a tech must deliver and instruct in proper use
4. What we have pts sign when we find that they or others in their home are smoking with O2

2. What we must make sure the pt is following every time we see an oxygen pt

6. What no one is allowed to change without an order from the pt medical provider (MD, NP, etc.)
7. What we must do with O2 cylinders to make sure no harm comes from them falling or being knocked over
9. A metal container that is used to hold compressed gases
11. Signs that we are required to provide to pts who have home O2
12. Minimum distance recommended to keep O2 from heat sources, flames, or sparks
