  1. 1. Competitive parade during Carnival. Each samba school parade is comprised of many different elements: floats, many people in costume, dancers, singers, and bateria.
  2. 2. A variation in the surdos marking the end of one section, or a phrase played by the bateria to end a section or song, usually ending on the third beat.
