Skeletal System
Across
- 1. A lubricant surrounding the bones so they can slide over each other.
- 3. Smooth material on the ends of bones, allowing them to slide over each other.
- 4. Tissues that contract and stretch. They pull on bones they are attached to, causing them to move.
- 6. Is where two bones meet. They allow different types of movement.
- 8. It supports the organs and skin, so that we do not collapse. It also protects the organs.
- 9. The tissue that attaches bone and muscle. It also holds the muscle in position.
Down
- 2. Tough, flexible tissue that holds the joints and bones together. It also keeps them from moving too far from each other.
- 5. The inner layer of the bone. Parts of it is filled with bone marrow which red blood cells make up.
- 7. The outer layer of the bone. Gives the bone strength, it is dense and heavy.
