Across
- 5. As I have gotten older, I have become more grateful for my sister's influence on the artist I now listen to. It first started with songs like Broken Clocks, Supermodel, and 20 Something, and developed into every song being known and memorized. I have learned to _______ all of her songs.
- 7. Thinking nothing of it, my brain automatically started to memorize each song that was played more than twice. I started to catch on and heard SZA on every social media platform. Her lyrics started to sink in like water contracts into a sponge.
- 10. Since listening to SZA I have learned one thing. When you find a music artist that writes as beautifully as her, you will not stop listening to them.
Down
- 1. In 8th grade when it was time to put a quote in the yearbook, I knew exactly what I wanted to put. I wrote down my favorite SZA quote "surround yourself with people that see you fully.” This quote shows that she is not just an amazing song writer, but an emotionally __________ person that understands.
- 2. Music: An art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color (“MUSIC Definition & Meaning”). Almost everyone around you can name a song or melody they listened to growing up that they remember or love. (Hint: Something to do with one's past.)
- 3. Royal by: Lorde was a song I had on repeat when I was younger. It helped me discover not only my love for Lorde, but for music in general. Since then music artists have continued to create detailed pieces, one of my favorites being SZA. (Hint: A word that describes SZA’s influence.)
- 4. Now when someone asks “what do you want to listen to,” straight away I respond with “SZA.” You know that saying “People that know me usually know my love for ____,” That is exactly how it is with SZA.
- 6. SZA’s music explores the emotion of honesty. I was sitting with my sister and she started to play a SZA song. Every time we would get into the car there was another SZA song. When she controlled any type of music source, she always made sure to put on SZA.
- 8. Her implying in her first song that she was not done yet, foreshadowed her career today, now SZA has become a well known artist all around the world. She has made many songs, won 5 grammys and her recent tour made around 1 million sales.
- 9. SZA or you may know her as Solana Imani Rowe is an American singer-songwriter who began making music in the early 2010’s when she was around the age of 22. Her first song being Castles that was self released. “I just don't get it yet, I'm not finished yet,” is a quote that directly came from this song. This explains SZA’s journey so far, and how much this one quote came to play out in her life today. (Hint: To grow into.)
