- 1. It is the uppermost layer of the trees in the rainforest. It is the fourth layer of the rainforest which consists of the tops of the tallest trees.
- 2. Plenty of rainfall, very warm weather and a variety of vegetation make this place what it is.
- 3. This is the ground layer consisting of tree roots, soil and any decaying matter. It is the first layer of the rainforest.
- 4. A type of agriculture where the trees are cleared and the land is cultivated for 2-3 years then when the soil becomes infertile, the farmer moves to a new area of land.

- 9. This plant grows long stemmed, woody vines which attaches itself to anything that is upright, especially trees, so it can grow and climb up into the canopy to get sunlight.
- 11. This is anything that absorbs more carbon than it releases such as forests which absorbs carbon dioxide from the Earth's atmosphere, thus reducing the effect of global warming.
- 15. It includes all living species of plants, animals, micro-organisms, together with the ecosystems upon which they live and relate to each other, as well as air, water and soil.
