- 4. Commonly known as the windpipe. A tube that connects the nose and mouth to the lungs and it runs down the neck and upper chest, carrying air to and from the bronchi.

- 2. A chemical reaction between oxygen and glucose (sugar) that produces energy and releases carbon dioxide as waste. Takes place in all body cells.
- 3. The delivery of oxygen from the alveoli to the blood, and the elimination of carbon dioxide from the blood to the alveoli.
