  1. 5. Alarm (AA): A type of alarm that is generated when an Alarm Panel Input or Reader Auxiliary Input is activated. The following are the most common devices which generate active alarms: emergency doors (BGU, EDR), perimeter intrusion detection alarms (PIDS), motion detectors (MD, PIR,MS), infrared (IRB) and laser beams, tampers (TMPR), photo electronic beams (PEB, PE), bond sensors, and key switches (KS).
  2. 6. Alarm (APB): A type of alarm that is generated when a cardholder is denied access because the entry or exit violates the Anti-Passback rules for the area, or when a cardholder fails to comply with badging procedures.
  3. 7. Held Open Alarm (DHO): A type of alarm that is generated when a door is held or propped open for more than the allotted, programmed time threshold.

  1. 1. In / Clean Out (CICO): The process by which all individuals and objects are screened traversing a Red Zone. The objective of CICO is to protect AWS brand, assets, and proprietary information through enhanced physical security controls of materials entering and exiting Amazon Data Center Red Zones.
  2. 2. Tamper Device (RTD) Alarm: A type of alarm that is generated when RTD hardware senses deviations from baseline position indicating potential rack tampering, unexpected access, or system error.
  3. 3. Approved Tools (CAT): A central repository that catalogs and tracks tools permitted to enter or exit the Red Zone, distinguishing between those allowed unescorted access and those with associated mitigation requirements.
  4. 4. Parts List (APL): A Data Center (DC) Security managed repository consisting of parts, devices, and equipment approved for use in the installation of security systems and inclusion in all Amazon Data Center security zones (Green, Yellow, and Red). The APL specifies what physical security hardware has been approved to be installed and utilized within the Data Center, ensuring that the appropriate vetting processes has been followed before being documented for use.
  5. 7. Forced Open Alarm (DFO): A type of alarm that is generated when a “Door Forced Open” condition has been detected, due to a door or hatch (intentionally or unintentionally) being forced to open without an individual being granted access at the device.
