Across
  1. 7. An extreme form of hypoechoic, meaning entirely without echoes (echo-free)
  2. 8. The distance or length of one complete cycle.
  3. 10. Brightness modulation; two-dimentional presentation of echo-producing interfaces, which are converted into dots and displayed at the correct depth from the transducer.
  4. 11. Portions of an image that are brighter than surrounding tissues, or tissues that appear brighter than normal.
  5. 14. Describes structures with equal echo brightness.
  6. 15. The name given to the highest Doppler frequency or velocity (limit) that can be measured without the appearance of aliasing
  7. 16. Amplitue modulation, a one-dimensional representation of a reflected sound wave.
Down
  1. 1. A fluid-filled sac/structure; an echo-free ultrasound appearance producing increased posterior sound transmission.
  2. 2. The interaction of ultrasound with adjacent tissue.
  3. 3. Artifact caused by undersampling of signal data in diagnostic imaging.
  4. 4. The number of particular events that occurs in a specific duration of time.
  5. 5. Term used to describe the movement of sound through a medium. Normally associated with speed.
  6. 6. A portion of tissue or an image that has similar echo characteristics throughout.
  7. 9. A portion of tissue or an image that has differing echo characteristics throughout.
  8. 12. Portions of an image that are not as bright as surrounding tissues, or tissues that appear less right than normal.
  9. 13. The "bigness" of a wave. It is the difference between the maximum value and the average or undisturbed value of an acoustic variable.
