- 2. This character exists with a lot of traits that are opposite of the main character. Think Deadpool compared to Superman
- 6. These characters are probably the least important. They are usually only around for a few scenes, and maybe only have one appearance or speaking role. These characters do often help add realism or show us a characteristic of the protagonist or antagonist.
- 7. The Character who creates conflict, often they are called “the bad guy.” Examples would be like Freddy Krueger or Darth Vader.
- 8. A character who can be a confidant, can be the innocent, and can be a foil. But this character is always loyal to the main character. Like Sam in The Lord of The Rings or Robin in Batman
- 9. A protagonist who is flawed or morally ambiguous. Examples would be Saul Goodman or The Man with No name, Tariq St. Patrick
- 11. A trusted individual for the protagonist, they share their emotions or fears with this character. Like Mushu or The Genie. Just about every Disney/pixar movie has them.
- 13. The main character is not a positive force! Think “The Grinch”

- 1. A character who helps the protagonist. This character can sometimes steal the show. Think Daryl Dixon or Han Solo
- 3. Basically me… But seriously, this character exists sometimes as an potential girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/etc. for the main character. They do not always stick together
- 4. A scoundrel
- 5. Like a hero in a story, the main character who we follow. Examples would be Harry Potter or Django Freeman.
- 10. A character with a heart of gold, they are often times naive or maybe a few nuggets short of a happy meal. Luanne platter or Butters are great examples.
- 12. Acts as a guide/helping hand for the protagonist or an entire group of characters. Examples would be Gandalf or Obi-Wan. Sometimes this character dies.
