4. A portion of land nearly surrounded by water and connected with a larger body of land.

1. Soil deposited at the mouth of a river. Alluvial plain formed at the mouth of a river where the stream lose velocity and deposits part of its load of sediments.
2. The source is the place the river begins, usually in the highland. The mouth is the part of a river where its waters empty into a larger body of water.
3. A large area of sea or ocean that is partially enclosed, larger then a bay.
4. Elevated level or nearly portion of Earth's surface, larger in summit area then a mountain and bounded on at least one side by steep slopes.
