2. Antoinette- An Austrian princess who married Louis XVI. She was known for her elaborate parties, hairstyles, diet, and life style.
5. A radical group of revolutionaries who believed that the King must die in order for any real change to happen.
8. Monarchy- When the King takes a more hands off approach, leaving many things up to local governments.
9. XVI- The ‘last’ king of France who was beheaded in 1793, marking the end of the monarchy.
10. A ‘humane’ way of execution that didn’t differentiate between social class. Joseph Guillotine is the man who introduced the idea with the first formal execution being on April 25, 1792.
13. Court Oath- A decoration and pledge made by many of the revolutionaries, made on a tennis court because their meeting room was locked by Louis XVI.
14. Right- The belief of Louis XVI that he had the right to rule to and govern the people, being set in place by God.

6. Terrors- A period of time following the creation of the guillotine when the french revolutionaries many, many nobles.
7. Regime- A name referring to French’s form of government prior to the revolution

12. Bonaparte- The French military officer who took charge of the French revolutionaries nearing he end of the Reign of Terrors, leading them through a series of wars around Europe shortly after.
