  1. 3. Two days after running an ultramarathon together, Alesia & I competed in the Auggie Twilight 5K, making history as the first women's, post-collegiate track team to take the field. Our team’s average age was double the age of our competitors!
  2. 6. As an Iron Man Triathlete, Coeur is my preferred brand. When we're together, their tri-kits make Alesia & I the best dressed, most comfortable athletes on the course!
  3. 8. What started as a babysitting job for a family member, developed into a remarkable friendship. Alesia & I have been on countless adventures, spanning thousands of miles, from mountain tops to the ocean beaches.
  4. 11. I “MURPH’ d” in full government issued uniform with Alesia to raise $ for disabled veterans. Our friendship began when a mutual, professional contact introduced us so we could collaborate & grow an idea.
  5. 13. Alesia is my first -born & only daughter. My first name is her middle name. We have been best friends for over four decades.
  6. 14. Like Alesia, I was born in Texas y’all! When our schedules allow, Alesia & I enjoy relaxing morning runs and play dates with our littles.
  7. 15. When my oldest son Tyler got married, Alesia officially became my daughter-in-law. We share many common passions, including arranging flowers.

  1. 1. Living in the same neighborhood has allowed for Alesia & I to bond as neighbors, friends, & followers in Christ. We enjoy neighborhood fellowship and women's Bible study together.
  2. 2. We were each pregnant with our 2nd child at the exact same time! I went 3 weeks early & Alesia carried to 42 weeks, making these making these 2 cousins just 1 week apart. Alesia is my sister-in-law.
  3. 4. Alesia recruited me to join her as a board member serving for a local non-profit organization & to join her post-collegiate track team. I recruit her to share early morning, long runs with me. Talking each other into all things “running” seems to be our thing!
  4. 5. My magnetic personality puts others around me at ease. Especially at the gym, where I motivate women with encouraging words, jokes, laughter, & singing. I have a knack for finding common ground & being relatable to people of all backgrounds and competencies.
  5. 7. Homeschooling catapulted our friendship, landing us on numerous field trips & a family vacation together in the mountains where we bonded over reptiles & presidents.
  6. 9. Separately, Alesia & I both hiked the Grand Canyon in 2024. If only we had known sooner that we shared a similar sense of adventure, we could’ve done it together! I encouraged Alesia to join me as a group fitness instructor & to seek her Professional Certification with ACE.
  7. 10. I once lived in Alesia’s house with her, & she once lived in my house with me. We’ve laughed and bonded endlessly over good food, including her favorite, Salvadoran pupusas. Remember that 8-week Belly-Dancing class we took together?
  8. 12. While I pull inspiration from many places, my favorite source is the strong, beautiful women in this room. My desire to celebrate you & your influence is the purpose of today’s event. I am honored to know you, to love you & to be loved by you. You are EVERTHING!
