  1. 1. The secondary aggressor. Signed a pact with Germany which contained a clause to divide Poland between the two nations. Also entered Poland from the west on September 17, 1939.
  2. 3. Also called the Treaty of Non-Aggression. A pact between the Soviet Union and Germany in which the two nations agree to not aid any other countries in an attack against either party. In addition, a secret clause was included that divided Poland between the two parties.

They tried to hold their ground but were ultimately unable to; the last of their resistance was squashed on October 6th.
