Across
- 3. A very serious snowstorm that has super-strong winds and lots of blowing snow, making it very hard to see outside.
- 5. A sudden, jiggly moment when the ground shakes and rumbles because the giant pieces of rock under the Earth's surface are shifting.
- 7. A massive, swirling storm that forms over warm ocean water. It brings very fast winds and a huge amount of rain. (It is the same kind of storm as a hurricane, but with a different name in some parts of the world!)
- 10. When a special kind of mountain (a volcano) burps or explodes and pushes out hot, melted rock called lava, ash, and smoke from deep inside the Earth.
Down
- 1. When way too much water flows over land that is usually dry, like when a river overflows or it rains non-stop.
- 2. A very long time where there is almost no rain at all. This makes everything dry and can cause plants and grass to die.
- 4. A strong wind that picks up a giant cloud of sand and dust in dry, desert places and blows it all around, making it dusty and hard to see.
- 6. A big, spinning tube of air that stretches from a stormy cloud down to the ground. It's like the wind is doing a fast, powerful dance!
- 8. When a huge, sloppy mix of wet dirt, rocks, and water rushes quickly down a hill or slope, usually after too much rain.
- 9. A series of giant, fast-moving ocean waves, most often caused by a big shake (an earthquake) under the sea.
