  1. 3. The development of a character from the beginning of the text to the end

  2. 2. language Language that is conversation and informal, eg. ‘G’day mate’

  4. 6. language Descriptive words that evoke an emotional response from the audience, eg. ‘I am furious’, ‘What a terrifying ordeal’
  5. 7. Includes theme music to begin and/or end an audio text, non-diegetic, background music to affect atmosphere, or diegetic music to immerse the listener.
  6. 10. A regular and repeated pattern of beats. Often used to speed up the pace of the story or to slow it down.
  7. 12. When the narrator speaks over the top of other sounds. Often used to introduce the audience to characters, events or problems
  8. 13. devices Figurative language (metaphor, similes etc) and sound devices (alliteration, onomatopoeia etc)
  9. 14. The speed at which the speaker speaks. A nervous character will often speak at a fast pace whereas a tired charter may speak at a slower pace
  10. 17. The voice telling the story or directing the listener’s attention
  11. 19. The attitude present in characters’ voices in the music
