- 2. In order to make them surrender without needless bloodshed He [s] instructed that the groves and vineyards of Taa’if be burnt.
- 5. “O Ansaar, would you not prefer to let them have goats and camels, while you return with the Messenger of Allaah?”
- 6. The holy Prophet Muhammad [s] always tried to console and reconcile his defeated enemies.
- 8. Taa’if begged him in the name of Allaah to spare their cultivations and so He [s] lifted the seige.
- 9. They requested the Prophet [s] not to destroy their chief idol, al-Laat, but the Prophet [s] refused.
- 11. After defeating the tribe of Hawaazin a group of them took refuge in Taa’if with the tribe of Thaqiif.
- 13. The Prophet [s] gave the Quraysh more than he had given the Muhaajiruun and Ansaar to facilitate their entrance into Islaam willingly.
- 14. The Prophet [s] decided to beseige the city of Taa’if.
- 15. The Prophet [s] prayed, “O Allaah, guide Thaqiif and bring them to us as Muslims."

- 12. The Prophet [s] declared that his allotment of the spoils and that of his tribe, Banuu Haashim, would be returned to Hawaazin.
