Across
  1. 6. Operations that are opposite of one another.
  2. 10. Two graphed lines (based off slope) that have a reciprocal of each other’s slope.
  3. 12. The x value that outputs a y-value based on slope. This is also known as the domain or just X.
  4. 13. A function that looks like a linear equation but goes perpendicular to itself after crossing the y-axis. This makes it V-shaped.
  5. 17. The number an exponent is placed upon. This number can be anything as long as it obeys the speed limit.
  6. 18. A one term expression or moreover a real number variable or the product of one or more real numbers or variables. Note that a monomial can be a polynomial.
  7. 20. The value of y/x that forms a line when plotted.
  8. 21. A line that divides a parabola into two parts that are mirror images of each other.
  9. 22. A y-coordinate where the line graphed (based off of slope) passes through the y-axis. This could also be called the vertical intercept.
  10. 23. An x-coordinate where the line graphed (based off of slope) passes through the x-axis. This could also be called the horizontal intercept.
  11. 24. A curved line that goes down and then upwards based off of its axis of symmetry.
  12. 29. The highest or lowest point of a parabola depending on if it opens up or down.
  13. 31. The amount of times a number is multiplied by itself. An exponent is attached to its base number.
  14. 32. The y value that is what is received based off of the x value and slope formula. This is also known as the range or just Y.
Down
  1. 1. A type of transformation that flips an absolute value function upside down.
  2. 2. Two graphed lines (based off slope) that have the same y/x value.
  3. 3. Two relations that look different but are equivalent to the same amount.
  4. 4. A method of solving a system of equations by multiplying and combining the equations in a system in order to eliminate a variable.
  5. 5. An equation made up of two or more inequalities thus combined or compounded.
  6. 7. y/x or m. This is another word for slope.
  7. 8. A function with multiple equations that are split up into pieces.
  8. 9. The sum of the exponents of the variables in the monomial.
  9. 11. An equation in which y is less than a certain value of x. This equation follows the same format as a normal linear inequality but instead replaces the equals sign with a larger than or smaller than sign.
  10. 14. A movement changing the X and Y intercept based off of the constant value added.
  11. 15. The rule stating that if the exponent of a number is 0 then the number becomes 1.
  12. 16. A pairing between two sets of numbers in which each element of the first set is paired with exactly one element of the second set.
  13. 19. Either the lowest or highest point of the graph.
  14. 25. The way that polynomials are named which is based on their degree or number of terms. Examples are monomials binomials trinomials or polynomials for anything above 3 degrees (respectively). The names based off of degree are as follows Constant linear quadratic cubic quartic and so on (respectively).
  15. 26. The magnitude of a number. If the number is negative in absolute value it is equal to itself with no negative sign.
  16. 27. A relationship and comparison between two quantities that can be written with a fraction or decimal.
  17. 28. When two exponential expressions with the same base are divided the result is the same base raised to the difference of the exponents (always numerator - denominator).
  18. 30. A monomial or the sum or difference of two or more monomials (called terms in this case). In other words it is an expression made up of terms. Poly means many and nomial means parts.
