- 1. Mao planned to modify China into becoming a modern industrialization power nation but the outcome of this was economically disastrous. This relied on human labor but turned out completely useless. In the end, many died due to starvation and others died from punishment.

However, China started taking action against the people there which inevitably led to protest and a confusing topic of one country, two systems.
