- In het laatste hoofdstuk werd Charlie woest toen ze erachter kwam dat Flora haar gedrag nep was. Een kind had gebruik van haar gemaakt.
- Toen Charlie nog jong was werd haar moeder voor haar ogen neergeschoten. Ze krijgt tijdens het verhaal telkens flashbacks naar wat er toen gebeurd was.
- In mijn boek zijn de hoofdrolspeelster Charlie en haar man allebei advocaten. We volgen Charlie in het verhaal.
- Charlie en haar man moeten samen nog een lening afbetalen maar dat gaat niet omdat een van hun cliënten hun nog duizenden euro's moet. Deze vraagt nog hulp aan Charlie maar zij weigert hem te helpen.
- Charlie ontwikkelt medelijden met de jonge Flora omdat die net zoals zij haar moeder op een vroege leeftijd had verloren. Daarom wilt ze Flora helpen.
- De Patersons is een familie die eerst rijk was maar door Flora in het zak is gezet. Ze wouden een winkelcentrum aanbouwen met gekochte grond maar de weg daarnaartoe zat niet in hun bezit.
- Flora, wiens ouders gestorven zijn, leeft bij haar grootouders, maar ze wil ontheffing uit de voogdij. Dit betekent dat ze al zelfstandig wilt gaan leven op haar 15e.
- Charlie, die zich de laatste tijd redelijk slecht voelt, wilt al een tijdje een test doen om te zien of ze zwanger is. Op het einde van het verhaal komt ze erachter dat ze zwanger is.
- De grootouders van Flora zijn allebei verslaaft aan pillen of alcohol. Dit is de reden waarom Flora bij ze weg wilt.

- De opa van Flora was die enige die na Flora's dood controle over het fonds kreeg. Flora maakte misbruik van het ongeluk dat hij een paar jaar eerder had meegemaakt en dwong de zwakkere man dingen met het geld te kopen.
- In mijn verhaal wordt meth gedeald. De politie probeert al een tijdje te zoeken wie dit doet. Dit blijkt uiteindelijk door Charlie haar cliënte te worden gedaan.
- Het hele boek gaat eigenlijk over Charlie haar werk, advocaat. Ze wilt Flora helpen, maar daar voor met ze veel dingen doen zoals kijken waarom ze daar weg wilt.
- Charlie besluit Flora te helpen omdat ze terugdenkt aan haar dode moeder omdat het meisje de hare ook verloren is.
- Toen in het begin van het verhaal Charlie misselijk werd liep ze naar de toiletten waar ze het meisje Flora ontmoette. Nadat die haar hielp was ze ook wel bereid om iets terug te doen.
- Omdat de ouders van de 15 jarige Flora allebei gestorven waren moest ze bij haar grootouders wonen waar ze volgens haar niet goed leefde.
- is de hoofdrolspeelster die Flora wilt helpen omdat ze door haar flashbacks krijgt naar haar gestorven moeder.
- De schrijfster van mijn boek, de laatste adem, is Karin Slaughter.
- Wanneer Flora verdacht wordt met drugshandel wordt ze meegenomen naar de gevangenis. Daar moet ze samen met haar advocaat een rechtszaak ondergaan.
- Het gedrag van Flora waar zogezegd gebruik van gemaakt werd bleek uiteindelijk nep te zijn. Zij was haar grootouders gaan bedreigen dingen te doen zodat ze zelf geld kon verdienen.
- Toen Charlie haar vriendin, een scout leider, Belinda bezocht kwam ze Flora tegen die haar als advocaat wou zodat ze Flora kon helpen met de ontheffing uit de voogdij.
- Toen Flora's ouders stierven kreeg ze een fonds van de staat, maar omdat haar grootouders al een groot deel zelf op hebben gedaan krijgt ze schrik dat er niks meer zal over zijn wanneer ze wilt gaan studeren later.
- Het verhaal gaat over Charlie, toen zij klein was werd haar huis in brand gestoken door cliënten van haar vader.
- Het boek heeft een open einde. Op het einde wordt een gebouw in brand gestoken waar Flora leefde. Hierdoor denk ik dat er misschien nog wel een vervolg komt.
